NEW COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT
A new apparel collection rarely begins with a completely finished production specification. Some buyers start with a seasonal concept, mood board or target silhouette; others provide a Tech Pack, reference garment or an existing bestseller that needs to be extended into a wider range. HENGQI adapts the development process to the buyer’s actual starting point and connects product development, material coordination, sampling and manufacturing in one continuous workflow.
01
Who This Cooperation Model Is For
This model is designed for apparel brands, importers, retailers and sourcing teams developing a new season, entering a new category or refreshing an established range. It is particularly suitable when the buyer already has a clear market direction but still needs manufacturing input to turn product ideas into stable, repeatable styles.
Typical projects include seasonal or capsule collection development, new sleepwear and loungewear programs, women’s fashion, knitwear, sportswear, selected children’s apparel, extensions of existing styles into new materials or colours, and ODM projects developed from a reference sample or commercial brief.
02
Flexible Starting Point
The project can start from whatever information is already available: a complete Tech Pack, physical sample, reference images, design sketch, target fabric direction or commercial brief. Before sampling begins, the intended silhouette, construction, measurements, material direction, trims, finishing, branding requirements and target market are clarified so the development stage starts from a shared understanding.
03
Fabric and Trim Development
Material selection directly affects hand feel, drape, stretch, appearance, cost and production stability. HENGQI coordinates fabric and trim options around the approved product direction rather than treating sourcing as an isolated step. For knitted and woven apparel, suitable material directions, colours, trims and finishing details can be compared before the buyer confirms the development route.
04
Sampling, Review and Revision
Sampling turns the agreed concept into a measurable product standard. Depending on the project, review can cover fit, construction, workmanship, measurements, material behaviour, colour, trims and overall appearance. Buyer comments are consolidated and followed through subsequent revisions. The objective is not simply to make a sample, but to establish a reliable approved reference for bulk production.
05
From Approval to Bulk Manufacturing
Once the style, material and specification are approved, the project moves into production planning. Pre-production confirmation, manufacturing, quality control, packing, documentation and export delivery remain connected to the development history of the style. This continuity helps important development decisions reach the production team instead of being lost between separate stages.
06
Built for Commercial Collections
HENGQI’s product experience covers sleepwear and loungewear as core categories, together with women’s fashion, knitwear, sportswear and other knitted and woven apparel. The model can therefore support either a focused category program or a broader seasonal assortment. The process is centred on manufacturability, repeatability and clear buyer approval—not design concepts alone.
